FAQs.
Is this suitable for children with moderate eczema?
Star of Raya sleepwear is thoughtfully created for children with sensitive and eczema-prone skin, including those experiencing moderate flare-ups. Our SeaCell™ and TENCEL™ fibres are selected for their exceptionally smooth surface, breathability and moisture-regulating properties — all important considerations when choosing eczema sleepwear.
While every child’s skin is unique and we cannot make medical claims, many families seek out Star of Raya specifically as a gentler alternative to conventional sleepwear for children with eczema.
Is SeaCell safe for toddlers?
Yes. SeaCell™ is produced using sustainably harvested seaweed combined with wood-based fibres in an environmentally responsible, closed-loop process. The resulting fabric is natural, breathable and designed to feel nurturing against delicate skin.
Our garments are free from harsh finishes, irritating trims or abrasive details, making them suitable for toddlers and young children with sensitive skin.
How is this different from cotton sleepwear?
Traditional cotton, while natural, can retain moisture and become heavy or slightly abrasive when damp — particularly during warmer nights. Many synthetic fabrics can trap heat and reduce airflow.
Star of Raya is crafted from a premium SeaCell™ and TENCEL™ blend, chosen specifically for its temperature regulation, moisture-wicking capability and ultra-smooth fibre structure. The fabric helps maintain a more balanced micro-climate around the skin — an important factor for children prone to night-time itching.
Our design is equally intentional. There are no zips, no buttons and no unnecessary internal detailing. Seams are minimised and carefully positioned to reduce friction, and the silhouette is designed for comfort to help limit unconscious scratching during sleep.
This combination of specialised fabric and considered design sets Star of Raya apart from conventional children’s sleepwear.
Does it help reduce night scratching?
Night-time itching can intensify due to increased warmth and natural hormonal changes that occur after dark. Our eczema-friendly sleepwear is designed to support a cooler, calmer sleep environment by enhancing breathability and reducing friction against the skin.
While no garment can treat or cure eczema, choosing the right fabric for sensitive skin can play a meaningful role in supporting more settled, comfortable nights.
Is this designed in Australia?
Yes. Star of Raya is proudly designed and ethically made in Australia. Our SeaCell™ fabric is produced in Portugal using seaweed sustainably harvested from the Norwegian Sea, ensuring both quality and responsible sourcing.
Every element — from fibre selection to final construction — is carefully considered to deliver premium eczema sleepwear for Australian families seeking a more thoughtful alternative.
